This is a mech constructed for the Original Mecha Contest 2022.
The model is mostly constructed from acrylic plastic, plastic tubing and cast resin pieces. I’ve used a few found objects here and there, but it’s mostly scratch built. The main figure is sculpted in epoxy clay and then overlaid with various found objects and parts from 1/6 scale figures.
I wanted to make this one highly posable, so everything moves and can be posed. I put a stop motion animation armature inside the figures and also used stop motion ball joint for the mechs legs. The larger set of arms use some cupboard door hinges to allow them to move. They also add some nice mechanical detailing.
